Well Seasoned
Everyday recipes that adapt to what is actually being harvested in the Netherlands right now.
- Design and build
- Runs on a phone, with mock data
- Expo, TypeScript
Why it exists
Recipes adapt themselves to the season. Open a courgette risotto in October and the courgette becomes pumpkin, with the method changing along with it.
That way you don’t put the same thing on the table every week, and you naturally pick what grows here right now or comes from local storage.
Where it stands
Since September the app runs on a real phone, with the core loop working end to end on mock recipes and a mock seasonal calendar.
The open question is the data. Every seasonal source I found is either non-commercial, a copy of the same upstream, or lumps harvest and storage together. The likely answer is a calendar I build myself.
